Congratulations Johan Nilsson! Trafiklab Hero 2015

At Internet Discovery Days Johan Nilsson, creator of STHLM Traveling, received the Trafiklab Hero 2015 award. The jury particularly highlights Johan Nilsson’s solid commitment and drive to develop digital services in public transport.

In his day job, Johan Nilsson works as a freelance web and Android developer. The prize, consisting of the honour and SEK 20,000, is awarded to the winner with the following citation:

Through solid commitment and incredible drive, Johan Nilsson has created the service STHLM Traveling. Every day the service helps thousands of travellers get around the Stockholm region. Johan has worked on developing digital services for public transport for many years and has also contributed to developing the industry’s view of service development, as well as inspired new open data sources and open APIs in the public transport sector.

– I hope that my app and this award can motivate others to make more data available, says Johan Nilsson.

The Trafiklab Hero award is given to a person who has, on a voluntary basis, created services that increase travel or make it easier to travel by public transport.
